Jade is a playable character from Mortal Kombat series. She is a childhood friend of Kitana. She first appeared in Mortal Kombat II as a secret character, until she became playable in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Biography[]

An assassin for Shao Kahn, Jade has earned a reputation as an agile and stealthy warrior. Her family was Edenian nobility and served the emperor once he conquered their realm, giving Jade to him as tribute when she was a child. After years of rigorous training in the art of kombat, Shao Kahn awarded her the position of Bodyguard to Princess Kitana. Over the centuries she and Kitana have become close friends, which makes Jade's secret orders from Shao Kahn painful to accept: Should Kitana's loyalty falter, Jade must kill her friend.

Appearance[]

In MKII, as with Kitana and Mileena, Jade wore a simple green leotard, along with matching knee-high boots, long gloves, and a headband.

In UMK3, Jade wears a leotard with added details, the only noticeable differences being the laced chest opening, armlets, ear studs, and a more liberal use of black, while the headband was dropped and her hair was tied in a tight bun. For her first 3D and unmasked appearance in Gold, her face was modelled after Talisa Soto, and she is clad in a modified leotard, with a near-closed chest opening, a gold brooch, and blue eardrops.

In MK 2011, her unitard is similar to Kitana's, but with green. The gold chains linked her upper thighs. Her gloves are similar to UMK3. Her boots are black with yellow lining and a green symbol. She also got a low ponytail.
